When my first child was born in 2003, I identified as a crunchy mom. I was full on into eating organic and buying from the farmers market and when she started eating, I made all her food from scratch. She ate salmon for God sake. As a toddler. That’s expensive! But I knew it was healthy and so we made it work. My point is that I bought into all of this that we would take a call Maha that we called crunchy back then and then I found some blogs like respectful insolence and skeptical raptor, and I learned. And then I found left brain right brain and science based blogs, and I learned more. It’s the thing that’s wrong with these women who identify as part of the Maha movement as they don’t look at valid science, and they will not admit that they are wrong. Seed oils are not a big deal. Baby formula is not poison. I could go on and on. We do need to exercise more in the United States. We do need to eat more fiber. We do need to eat more vegetables. We don’t need to eat food fried and tallow. We should cut down on fried foods altogether. We don’t need to eat beef even on a daily basis. I don’t need any beef at all for a political basis, but those who do should definitely not eat it more than a couple times a week. I could go on and on. My opinions are based on scientific evidence. That’s the problem with Maha. They are grifter.
