What is also very predictable?

Anti-vaccine influencers will be going into overdrive to try to dismiss and minimize this death, trying to say that it was not actually caused by measles.

How Will Anti-Vaccine Influencers React to News of Yet Another Measles Death in Pennsylvania?

How do we know that?

Because that’s their MO (method of operations)!

That’s what they do every time a child or adult dies because they are sick with measles.

They move the goalposts.

They try to shift the blame onto something else—anything except the simple fact that measles is a life-threatening disease.

Why?

Because in their anti-vaccine worldview, measles is a mild disease that doesn’t kill people.

So if you do die when you have measles, then there must be another reason than that you had measles!

And that’s what we will see today in response to the news of another measles death in Pennsylvania on September 12, 2026.

This is the third death in Pennsylvania this year from complications associated with measles.

We will see anti-vaccine influencers asking:

• if she was vaccinated? - while it is likely safe to say that she was unvaccinated, even if she was fully vaccinated, since vaccines aren’t perfect, that would be an even more important reminder why we need everyone else to be be vaccinated! Why? Most of the people in these outbreaks are unvaccinated.

• if she had any chronic diseases? - while a chronic disease would have made her more high-risk, that would be a reason why we need herd immunity levels of protection! It certainly would not be a reason to minimize her death.

• if she really died from or with measles? - unlike other recent announcements, this one is clear - she died from complications associated with measles. She died from measles - because she was sick with measles.

• was it a vaccine strain of measles? - actually, I think they finally learned to stop asking about shedding and vaccine strains!

What else?

They will look to attack the care she received, blaming her death on malpractice and medical errors.

Of course, there are much simpler explanations for these deaths.

There are out-of-control measles outbreaks in Pennsylvania and many other states and there are way too many people who are unvaccinated.

And that’s a recipe for a lot of people getting sick and some dying.

Fortunately, there is a way to put a stop to all of this - get vaccinated and protected.

Stop the outbreaks.
