As measles cases continue to rise, we have news of what many of us have expected and have been warning about - yet another child has died from measles.

A death that we can add to the ten other measles deaths that have already been reported since 2025, when we started seeing more measles, including:
an unvaccinated, previously healthy 6-year-old (TX - 2025)
an unvaccinated adult man (NM - 2025)
an unvaccinated 8-year-old girl (TX - 2025)
a school-age child from SSPE, a late complication of measles (CA - 2025)
an unprotected newborn who died at birth (PA - 2026)
an unprotected six-week-old infant (PA - 2026)
an unvaccinated 40-year-old woman who also had COPD (PA - 2026)
an unvaccinated 18-year-old with no documented preexisting conditions who died from ADEM, a complication of measles (PA - 2026)
an unvaccinated 20-year-old with leukemia (PA - 2026)
an unvaccinated 39-year-old with a recent history of measles, underlying conditions, and who died from a “probable acute cardiac event due to possible complications of the measles.” A death that is still being investigated by the Pennsylvania DOH, even though the coroner announced that it was a measles-associated death.
