Days after we had the report that a 40-year-old woman died from complications of measles in Pennsylvania, there is already news of another measles death.

This time, it’s an 18-year-old.
There Has Been Yet Another Measles Death in Pennsylvania - An Unvaccinated Teenager
The unvaccinated teen died from a known complication of measles - measles-induced Acute Disseminated Encephalomyelitis (ADEM).
Wait, what’s ADEM?
ADEM is a type of encephalitis.
And while some older vaccines, including older rabies vaccines that aren’t used in the US, can cause ADEM, newer vaccines have not been shown to be associated with ADEM.
Instead, ADEM is typically triggered by a viral infection.
Anyway, this teen was unvaccinated.
This unvaccinated teen marks the fourth death in the United States so far this year.
That’s four vaccine-preventable deaths in outbreaks that are still out of control and growing larger every day.
