How Many People Have Died in Recent Measles Outbreaks?
The Real Truth About Vaccines
There is one very predictable response to the surge in measles cases this year. And it is those people who try and minimize the record-breaking outbreaks by asking questions about how many people have died with measles.

Questions for which they don’t really want answers.
How Many People Have Died in Recent Measles Outbreaks?
But if they did, here we go.
Because, of course, people have died and suffered complications during these measles outbreaks.
In fact, since the start of the these big measles outbreaks last year, we have seen:
two deaths in unvaccinated children in Texas (2025)
one death in an unvaccinated adult in New Mexico (2025)
one SSPE death (2025)
at least one infant with meningoencephalitis who was born to an unvaccinated mother with measles (2025)
at least one unvaccinated child with measles encephalitis (2026)
at least 379 hospitalizations, the majority of which have been children, with very few of them known to be completely vaccinated with two doses of the MMR vaccine
So yes, people have died.
People, including pregnant women, newborn babies, infants, children, teens, and young adults, etc., have suffered.

And we will continue to see suffering and deaths until these measles outbreaks are brought under control and stopped.
Measles outbreaks that can be easily controlled and stopped if everyone would get vaccinated and protected.
