Another day, another claim of some kind of bombshell or smoking gun about vaccines.

Another claim that ends up being just another dud.
About That Smoking Gun Early Cardiac Safety Signal for the COVID Vaccines
In this case, the claim of a smoking gun is for a paper about myocarditis and pericarditis cases early in the COVID pandemic. Cases that occurred after young people in Israel received their vaccines.
Wait, don’t we know about this already?
“The safety signal was communicated to clinicians and the public only after approximately three to four months, primarily in ways that emphasized its rarity, generally mild clinical course, and lower concern relative to COVID-19 outcomes.”

Of course, we do.
The paper is simply suggesting that there was a delay in when the safety signal was found and when the public was told.
And the paper is also trying to make the claim that the risk was greater, especially to young males, than we were told.
There is a problem, though!
The paper could not determine the risk of myocarditis or pericarditis because they didn’t know how many people were vaccinated. They only knew how many people were hospitalized.
And a safety signal isn’t a confirmed risk.
From there, vaccine safety systems moved to verify that there was indeed a risk and determine how big the risk might be.
Of course, they must also determine if the risk from the vaccine was greater than the risks from COVID itself!
“Data from 40 health care systems participating in a large network found that the risk for cardiac complications was significantly higher after SARS-CoV-2 infection than after mRNA COVID-19 vaccination for both males and females in all age groups.”

Fortunately, it wasn’t.
If the authors of this study had gotten what they wanted - an early alert to the public, scaring them away from getting vaccinated because of their safety signal, what could have happened?
There could have been even more deaths from COVID, especially in teens because their parents were scared into skipping their vaccines.
What else?
The paper describes 531 hospitalizations and 67 deaths, but they are not proven to be caused by COVID vaccines…
Botton line - the risk of myocarditis and pericarditis from COVID vaccines in Israel was not hidden or delayed. It was simply thoroughly investigated before the FDA and other agencies issued warnings.
