This likely surprises no one, but on the day that two people have died with measles in Pennsylvania, Secretary RFK, Jr wrote a long screed trying to explain why some people might not want to get the MMR vaccine.
His reason?
Citing Aaron Siri for backup, RFK, Jr goes with misinformation about the MMR vaccine containing aborted fetal tissue.

Of course, it doesn’t.
Yes, the MMR vaccine is made with cell lines that are derived (they can replicate infinitely) from a few electively terminated pregnancies (abortions) in the 1960s, but there is no fetal tissue involved.
Those original cells aren’t even involved in making these vaccines any more.
The cells used today have been copied, over and over again. They are descendant cells, which is why a common way to explain all of this, is to say that vaccines are said to have a “distant association with abortion.”
And even then, the cells are removed before the final vaccine is produced.
What else?
The abortions were not done to make vaccines!
And while Governor Shapiro might not have been able to provide Secretary RFK, Jr with any examples of his promoting misinformation about vaccines, we and others have listed dozens, if not hundreds of examples!

Lastly, any decline in vaccination rates during the Biden administration is likely because of RFK, Jr, not anything Joe Biden did.
Remember, RFK, Jr has been the most famous anti-vaccine influencer on the planet for over ten years.
And sadly, he can’t put aside his anti-vaccine rhetoric for even one day - the day that two people died with measles.
Two people who died with measles because of the record-breaking measles outbreaks that have been poorly controlled on his watch.
