Remember when RFK, Jr said that he was stopping our measles outbreaks at record speed?

Dana Bash probably should have gotten some clarification on just what kind of records he was talking about…
Is RFK, Jr Stopping Our Measles Outbreaks at Record Speed?
After all, since Kennedy has been Secretary of HHS, we have had the:
largest measles outbreak in 35 years - the South Carolina outbreak
longest measles outbreak in 35 years - the Utah outbreak - well, he hasn’t actually stopped this one yet, it is still ongoing…
So, technically, he was right.
He is “stopping” the outbreaks at record speed!
They just aren’t the kind of records any of us would have wanted…
Update on our Measles Outbreaks
And even more importantly, he hasn’t stopped the outbreaks.

We are seeing new outbreaks every week.
And these new outbreaks are growing faster and getting bigger than most past outbreaks.
For example, in the past two weeks, just since Secretary Kennedy said that he was stopping measles at record speed and doing better at handling them than any country in the world, we have seen over 325 new measles cases!

Is that a lot?
To put things in perspective, we typically don’t have that many cases in an entire year!
What else?
There is no sign that these measles outbreaks are slowing down.

And no sign that Secretary RFK, Jr is really doing anything to stop them.
In fact, his continued anti-vaccine rhetoric, like the calls for splitting up the MMR vaccine, are almost certainly making them worse.

But you can stop them!
Get yourself and your kids vaccinated (remember that younger infants, toddlers, and preschoolers can get an early MMR if needed) and protected, especially if you are already in an area with a measles outbreak or low MMR vaccination rates.
Get your MMR vaccines.
Stop the outbreaks.
