This time from an anti-vaccine influencer!

Do you understand why the birth dose of hepatitis B vaccines can’t be causing the increase in autism rates on the above graph?

How about proof from an anti-vaccine influencer?

Proof That Vaccines Aren’t Associated With Vaccines

If you haven’t figured it out after looking at the above chart, know that autism rates are typically posted based on surveillance year.

The rate of 1 in 150 was for kids in surveillance year 2000 or birth year 1992, when only 10% of newborns were getting their birth dose of the hepatitis B vaccine and there had already been a rise in autism rates.

And that is typically eight years after those kids were born.

While it might look like the rise in autism rates correlates with the increase in hepatitis B vaccine coverage rates, it is a false correlation. Few of those kids would have received the hepatitis B vaccine!

Accordingly, if you redo the above chart using their birth year, you can see that the autism rates started to rise well before the vaccine coverage rate for the newborn hepatitis B dose did.

There goes that correlation!

In fact, few of the kids who were diagnosed with autism in the mid to late 1990s would have received a hepatitis B vaccine. Remember, they would have been born in the late 1980s or early 1990s before most babies got the vaccine.

So stop listening to anti-vaccine influencers talk about vaccines and autism!
