Jenny McCarthy Is Still an Anti-Vaccine Influencer
The Real Truth About Vaccines
While there are many more popular anti-vaccine influencers around these days, it is helpful to understand that Jenny McCarthy is still around.

And she is still pushing misinformation about vaccines and autism.
Remember that the next time you watch The Masked Singer…
Jenny McCarthy Is Still an Anti-Vaccine Influencer
Why is that important?
Well, she has a prominent place in the history of the modern anti-vaccine movement!

Remember, she began scaring parents with her many appearances on Oprah, Good Morning America, Larry King Live, and 20/20 in 2007 to promote her book about how she cured her non-Indigo autistic son who got the “autism shot.”
That led to the Green Our Vaccines rally with Jim Carrey in 2008 and being the face of the anti-vaccine Generation Rescue organization.
“But it feels far too scripted to be taken seriously, and a too-obvious ploy for McCarthy to appeal to the constituencies she has alienated over the years, as she insists now that her anti-vaccine views were misunderstood. Once again — and we can’t say it enough — a reality show will never be a way to fix a reputation that’s already damaged that badly.”
Jenny McCarthy tries to mend her anti-vaccine reputation with reality TV. It’s too little, too late.
And then we didn’t hear her talk about vaccines that much, as other anti-vaccine influencers took over, and she had her Donnie Loves Jenny reality TV show, her year on The View, and now The Masked Singer.

Now she’s back though, and once again, she is pushing the idea that the MMR caused her son to be autistic.
But did it?
Let’s see what other people have said about Jenny McCarthy over the years, as her story has so often changed:

So did her son have autism?
Did she really ‘recover’ him from his autism?

Is he autistic again?
“I oppose you and your activism because, even after it has been thoroughly debunked, you’ve peddled the idea that the vaccines we give our children can also “give” them autism. In using your celeb- rity status to peddle this nonsense, you’ve helped perpetuate the idea that having autism is something that should be avoided, and you’ve also played a role in convincing parents to avoid vaccines.”
My Open Letter to Jenny McCarthy
And most importantly, why has anyone ever given Jenny McCarthy a platform to talk about vaccines and autism?

After all, the only thing that she has ever gotten right, is that measles and other vaccine preventable diseases were going to come roaring back as more people listened to her.
And oh yeah, vaccines still aren’t associated with autism and the harmful treatments she promotes aren’t going to help anyone.
