Have you ever wondered why flu season starts after flu vaccines are given out?

Yeah, me neither, but this is apparently a talking point among anti-vaccine influencers…
Why Does Flu Season Start After Vaccines Are Given Out?
Of course, while it is a ridiculous idea, they do it to try to make you think that flu vaccines are actually causing the flu.
In reality, flu vaccines are given before flu season starts so that people are vaccinated and protected before they have a chance of getting exposed to the flu.
Plus, it makes no sense to give everyone a flu vaccine after flu season has ended, does it?
Thinking that flu season starts because we start vaccinating people is like thinking that winter starts because we switch out our fall clothing for heavier winter clothing.
Or that school starts each fall just because parents go out and buy their kids new back-to-school clothing and supplies.
What else?
The idea that flu season starts after flu vaccines are given out isn’t even true!
After all, people start getting their flu vaccines in August and September.
And when does flu season typically start?
Flu season doesn’t usually start until later in the year, peaking around January or February, with no correlation to flu vaccines.
Which makes all of this yet another good reason to be more skeptical and stop listening to anti-vaccine influencers.
