Was the Teen Who Died From Measles Immunocompromised
In this case, the usual suspects are the folks at Children’s Health Defense, the anti-vaccine organization that RFK, Jr founded.
An organization that is working hard to minimize the measles deaths we have been seeing.
In this case, they are trying to say that the 18-year-old in Pennsylvania who recently died may have been immunocompromised, as if that would make their death any less important.
But why do they think he was immunocompromised?
“It is worth noting, as Dr. Karl Jablonowski, Ph.D. points out, that the last pediatric death from measles-derived encephalomyelitis in the US was in 2003 in a 13-year-old who was severely immunocompromised after having received a bone marrow transplant.”

Because in 2003, a 13-year-old who was immunocompromised did die of a complication of measles. He had recently had a stem cell transplant and tragically developed measles inclusion body encephalitis (MIBE).
MIBE involves persistent measles-virus infection of the central nervous system.
Of course, MIBE is not ADEM though, which is what the teen in Pennsylvania had.
ADEM is an immune-mediated demyelinating complication that can occur shortly after an acute measles infection.
Also, ADEM is not typically associated with people who are immunosuppressed.
How do I say this politely...Jablonowsk is an even dumber failed scientist than Brian Hooker, which is an impressive feat of incompetence. And they are both callously inhumane regarding every person they have helped kill with measles.
They think that they understand what makes someone healthy and they think they can just look at people and determine who is healthy and who is not. They don’t understand that we all potentially have underlying conditions that are not diagnosed. We are all at risk from these diseases. And it shouldn’t matter if someone is old or a newborn or has a pre-existing condition. Everyone deserves to be safe from vaccine prevent preventable disease diseases. Basically they are vultures and the weak don’t matter to them.
