Do you ignore your child’s risk of dying from:

• drowning?

• choking?

• car crashes?

• getting struck by lightning?

Or do you do anything and everything possible to lower their risk of getting hurt and dying from these safety hazards?

That’s right!

You put a fence around your pool (if you have one), have your kids wear a life jacket, teach them to swim, and supervise them to reduce their risk of drowning!

You cut up their food and keep high risk objects out of reach of your younger child to reduce their risk of choking!

You sit them in an age-appropriate infant or car seat to protect them in a car crash!

And you don’t let them play outside during thunderstorms to reduce their risk of getting struck by lightning.

Dr. Gator doesn’t tell you that there have been 11 SSPE deaths in the United States in the past six years, including a seven-year-old who died in 2025!

So why wouldn’t you vaccinate your child to reduce their risk of getting measles and SSPE, a late complication of measles that is always fatal? Especially when there is also the risk of dying from measles itself!
