A research center at NIH focused on vaccine injuries sounds like a good idea, right?
“The U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH) is preparing to launch a clinical research program to study people who believe they were harmed by vaccines, including COVID-19 vaccines. In an internal meeting last week, officials at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) discussed plans for a new research center on the NIH campus in Bethesda, Maryland, that could start up in mid-October, Science has learned.”
Exclusive: New NIH research center on vaccine harms takes shape
After all, vaccines are not perfect and they do have side effects, including some rare, serious side effects.
RFK, Jr.’s New Vaccine Injury Research Center
Still, the idea of a vaccine injury research center championed by Secretary RFK, Jr has many people concerned.
“For many years, you’ve asked questions from outside the government, as I did, and now I have the privilege and the responsibility of leading the department.”
Secretary RFK, Jr
Why?
Well, for one thing, Secretary RFK, Jr’s quotes about vaccine questions came while he was the featured speaker at a Children’s Health Defense conference, a well-known anti-vaccine organization.

And it is well known that many in his MAHA movement believe that all vaccines are poison and always cause injuries.
So you can imagine that there is a big concern that RFK, Jr’s vaccine injury research center is not going to be looking at rare side effects, but instead is going to give a platform for those who think that anything and everything that happens to them after they receive a vaccine is a vaccine injury, even if it occurs weeks, months, or years after getting a vaccine.
In the face of rising vaccine hesitancy and cases of vaccine-preventable diseases, it could become another source of misinformation and propaganda for anti-vaccine influencers and will be of no help to anyone who was truly vaccine-injured.
What else?
His plan will include a new billing code so that providers can get reimbursed for filing reports of what they think are serious vaccine side effects.
Of course, that could just increase the reports to VAERS, even if there isn’t any real increase in vaccine injuries, as some providers would now have a financial incentive for over-reporting.
Secretary Kennedy’s plan also includes:
a vaccine injury clinic at NIH to evaluate people who think their symptoms occurred after getting a vaccine
a vaccine injury research program
a plan to modernize VAERS
a proposal to change how suspected vaccine injuries are reported in electronic health records
conducting the MOSAIC study, which will collect clinical and genomic information from participants who report symptoms after vaccination
making vaccine safety research a funding priority at NIH
using the findings from this plan to guide future vaccine recommendations
A plan that is set on finding evidence of vaccine injuries by people who believe that vaccines often injure people.
Do you see the problem?
Secretary RFK, Jr has introduced so much bias into his plan that few, outside his followers, will trust any results that come from his plans.
Plus, he is diverting funds and resources from other public health priorities, and he never mentions the benefits of vaccines or the dangers of vaccine-preventable diseases.
Lastly, he is putting too much emphasis on VAERS, when we already have the Vaccine Safety Datalink which can conduct near-real-time monitoring using linked electronic health records and comparison groups.
What should he be doing instead?
He should be working to control our measles outbreaks, which are at record levels!
And he should be doing his job, reassuring people that vaccines are safe, with few risks, and necessary.

RFK doesn't care about people unless if they're anti-vaccine.
