Why are we talking about blood clots in NFL players?

The usual suspects…
Let’s Talk About Blood Clots in NFL Players
In this case, anti-vaccine influencers want you to believe that COVID vaccines are causing blood clots in these NFL players.
Do you see a problem with that idea?
It misses the very simple fact that a lot of NFL players had blood clots before we had COVID vaccines.
Why?
Mostly because NFL players have many risk factors for blood clots, including that they suffer frequent trauma and injuries, have frequent surgery, are big, and often travel on long-distance flights.
Well, not just NFL Players - it’s most pro athletes.
“A total of 55 venous thromboembolism (VTE) events were identified from 1999 through 2016 (NHL, n = 22; MLB, n = 16; NFL, n = 12; NBA, n = 5).”

And it has nothing to do with COVID vaccines.
“Getting vaccinated against COVID-19 is the greatest protective measure one can take to avoid COVID-19-associated blood clots.”
ASH President: Hematologic Complications of COVID-19 Vaccines Are Rare
In fact, since a natural COVID infection increases your risk for a blood clot, getting an up-to-date COVID vaccine can help you avoid these kinds of blood clots.
What else?
The COVID vaccines that were rarely associated with clots aren’t even available any longer.
All of which should leave you wondering why anti-vaccine influencers are still pushing this kind of propaganda, but I guess that’s why they call it propaganda.
The only winning move is not to listen.
