Let’s Look at the Evidence That Vaccines Are Associated With SIDS
The Real Truth About Vaccines
What happens when you present anti-vaccine influencers with clear evidence that vaccines are not associated with SIDS?

Of course, they ignore it.
Let’s Look at the ‘Evidence’ That Vaccines Are Associated With SIDS
And then, they bring up what they think is evidence that vaccines actually are associated with SIDS.
What’s the problem with their strategy?

None of their ‘evidence,’ like the recently removed VAERS study, actually holds water.
And most has already been debunked!
For example, consider this ‘evidence’ that vaccines are associated with SIDS that anti-vaccine influencers commonly believe and promote:
the Grus Justice Project and the Silencing Detective Grus mockumentary - revolves around the story of Helen Grus, an Ottawa detective who was suspended for investigating SIDS cases, including checking to see if their mothers had received a COVID vaccine, even though she wasn’t involved in any of the investigations. - Helen Grus was found guilty of discreditable conduct.
the story of ‘Jennifer,’ an anonymous police officer who claims that she believes that nearly all SIDS deaths are related to vaccines. How many deaths? She claims that there were 250 SIDS cases in her city of 300,000 over a 7-year period, and that about 50% occurred within 2 days of a vaccine. - The problem? A city that size likely has about 1-2 SIDS deaths each year. It would take a city with over 8 million people to have that many SIDS cases over 7 years! Oh, and we know from the large NICHHD study that only “five (0.7 percent) of 757 SIDS deaths occurred within 24 hours and 12.9 percent within two weeks of receiving DTP.”
a 1982 unpublished conference abstract by William Torch, who claimed that the DPT vaccine might be associated with SIDS. This was not a peer-reviewed study, however. It was a hypothesis, and it was later disproved by many published peer-reviewed studies, which found no increased risk of SIDS after DPT vaccination. Studies that actually found that “SIDS infants were less likely to have been immunized in the recent past or at any time than controls.”
a ‘study’ by Viera Scheibner, “Australia’s best known opponent of
vaccination,” the Cotwatch paper describes what she thinks are stress-induced breathing patterns after two infants were vaccinated and observed on the Cotwatch device her husband built. It is not a peer-reviewed study, but instead, was basically a report on why she thinks vaccines are associated with SIDS… and shaken baby syndrome.
the idea that SIDS deaths dropped during the COVID lockdowns as vaccination rates dropped. - Unfortunately, SIDS deaths didn’t drop during the COVID lockdowns.
misinformation that SIDS only began when we started vaccinating kids. Not true. “SIDS” is mentioned in the Bible and was described by the ancient Egyptians and early Greeks.
the idea that there is no SIDS in unvaccinated kids. - Not true. Unvaccinated children can die from SIDS.
misinformation that there are hot lots causing SIDS. - Not true.
And of course, many studies have repeatedly shown that vaccines are not associated with SIDS.
